Jimmie's unforgettable band was billed as "The Harlem Express" for many years and was ranked equal to Ellington and Basie. This recording was taken from a live broadcast originating at the Jefferson Barracks in Missouri. The tunes are first rate and include Lunceford's renowned version of For Dancers Only. It's good to hear Luncefords speaking voice, he was a college professor before he became a maestro and he played a dozen instruments. This may well be the rarest of all the Hindsight recordings.
